Prayers Needed

For those of you who haven't heard, my great grandmother (Mama Sarah) is back in the hospital. She was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer a few weeks ago. She started treatment on Wednesday, April 21st, receiving her first doses of chemo and radiation. She did really well at first, but became extremely nauseated and eventually confused and agitated by Saturday evening. Doctors recommended that she head to the hospital's cancer unit for IV fluids. That night, her heart gave her trouble and she ending up coding rather unexpectedly. Thank the Lord for a fantastic code team, as they were able to resuscitate her after quite some time.

Mama Sarah has had quite the week trying to recover. She's still got a long way to go, but I'm happy to report that as of this evening she's out of the ICU and on the oncology floor! If you're interested, you can check out her story and journal on the caring bridge web-site:

I know she'd love to hear that you're thinking of her in the guestbook section.

Get well soon, Mama Sarah! Wish we were there with you now. I'm sending lots and lots of love kicks your way. Love you bunches and bunches...and see you soon!

Love,
Lil' Bit
